5/16 – THE DRAFT IS OVER!!
KUDL drafted EIGHT teams of 15 people each (4 women and 11 men) on Tuesday night. Your captain[s] will be emailing you soon to verify your attendance and your shirt size. (Some of the men who want extra small shirts puzzle us...)
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER! If you haven't registered for KUDL, do so RIGHT NOW. We will be holding a supplemental draft before the start of games Monday May 21.
We need more women!! If you know women, and you bring in some women, KUDL will build you a small shrine and there will be offerings to your greatness and awe-inspiring power.
PAY TO PLAY MAY 21. Please check in at the registration table Monday May 21 at 6 p.m. at the Versluis-Dickinson Fields.
Come ready to pay by check (made out to Kalamazoo Ultimate) or with cash (see costs below) Monday at 6 p.m.
Once you pay, or if you have already paid, you will get your official KUDL disc.
You will need to sign the waiver for the UPA and provide any information we may be missing for our rosters.
Once cleared to play, you will be sent to the playing fields.
KUDL STARTS GAMES MAY 21 for 10 weeks.
Go to the forum to discuss the setting of the tournament date. Proposed dates: Saturday July 28, Sunday July 29, Sunday August 5, or Saturday August 11.

PREVIEW NIGHT is not official and attendance is not required but it is encouraged.
If you're a new player, Preview Night gives you a chance to learn the basics of Ultimate (even if you already know them), to work on throws, and just to run around and get some exercise.
Preview night is also a good time to sign up and PAY YOUR REGISTRATION FEE, or if you have already signed up, to just pay your registration fee.
OFFICIAL DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS MAY 14.
KUDL TEAM DRAFT takes place MAY 15.
You can still register AFTER May 14. Late comers are welcome. We just may run out of shirts in your size.
Team games start on May 21, Monday at 6 p.m. at our usual spot at Versluis-Dickinson (see directions elsewhere).

4/30 – The online community shall rejoice! KUDL has gone to the world wide web both on facebook and myspace. On facebook? Simply type “kalamazoo ultimate” into a group search and the Kalamazoo Ultimate Disc League will pop up. We’re the one with the amazing laying out bear for the logo. Feel free to join and discuss issues, pick up games, or simply talk some trash once the season starts. This ability is also available for the myspace community as well. Go to http://groups.myspace.com/kudl and start some conversations. Both online communities are open to the general public and we would love to see some chatting about the league.
Registration works! As you probably noticed from the main part of the page, registration is now open and we would love nothing more than to have you and twenty friends join today. The registration process really helps in the forming of teams and a basic understanding of what type of league we’ll be looking for this summer. So, please, get us that information if you intend to play and have not done so yet.
Pick up at K-College. There is currently a pick up game taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Kalamazoo College football field from 4-6pm. If you need to get the ultimate skills brushed up, or simply want to get in on a game this is run by the amazing Dan Lipson with his co-host, Chris Tower. They’re friendly chaps and will help those that haven’t played, or provide a good game for those with some experience.
4/19 – This week the KUDL board met once again and most importantly we were able to decide on prices for this summer’s league. KUDL membership includes field fees through August, insurance, team shirt, league disc, and funds for end of the season tournament/after party. Here’s the breakdown:
$40 for KUDL membership.
$25 for Student KUDL membership.
The biggest news on price is the continued dedication to a student discount. We know students don’t have that proverbial extra cash stashed in places unknown, and we want to help in any way we can (we’re good like that here at KUDL).
Our extremely hard working internet guru is getting the site in ship-shape for the majority of registrations, and we hope to have more updates, pictures and much more soon.
WHY KUDL?
Sounds cute, doesn't it? We want to sound like we're more in line with the SPIRIT OF THE GAME. KUSS (the year one - 2006 name) was a little aggro (see LINGO link). KUDL - Kalamazoo Ultimate Disc League – is cute, sure, but when the cuddly bear lays out and scores on you, it won't be so cute then, will it?
WHY NOT FRISBEE?
Some of you may have heard of the game called Ultimate Frisbee. In fact, you may hear some of the KUDL team captains or stalwart players call it Ultimate Frisbee.
"Frisbee" was a plastic disc invented by the Wham-O! toy company in 1964.
Though this is a common term for a flying disc, players of Ultimate simply call the sport Ultimate because, it is, the ultimate, that is.
